EASY I/08 Adapter to Modem
Note:
- Cable KE must
be FTP (Foil Screened Twisted Pair).
- Maximum length
is 100ft.
- The cable screen
must be connected to pin 1 at the modem end only; PROVIDED that pin 1 on the
modem is connected to GROUND.If the modem does not support GROUND on pin 1,
then the cable screen MUST be disconnected from pin 1 and connected to the
cover screw.
- The modem must
support X-ON / X-OFF flow control. Hardware flow control CAN NOT be used.
- BEWARE!! There
may be some existing Stallion cables installed that have the Cable Screen
earthed at the Stallion card end. All new cables installed should have the
Cable Screen earthed at the peripheral end, as per EDP standards. You must
ensure that the screen is dc continuous along the whole length of the cable;
and that all cables MUST have the screen EARTHED AT ONE END ONLY, NOT BOTH!!!!
