HOW TO TEST THE BML FAXBOX FACILITY
There is no script to test the faxbox.
The easiest test is to issue the following command from the hash prompt :-
#fax -ptelephone number ../etc/inittab (CR)
This will fax the inittab file to the telephone number specified.
Other useful commands
cd to $UFXLIB/bin or /usr/lib/ufax/bin.
Some of the commands may only be used if you are super user or user ufax. (On older systems this will be unifax. For example enter
su ufax (no password)
faxstatThis will show the status of the faxbox. If the system is up it will return the message "Faxbox DCE1 enabled and idle" (or transmitting a request before displaying the fax queue. If not, then the system is down and will not queue any faxes.
faxrestart -p
This will restart a failed or abandoned fax and send it to the new number.
e.g. faxrestart -p778712 124
faxdisable DCE1
This will disable the faxbox and should abandon a fax stuck on the FAXQ. Use faxcancel to cancel this fax, then use faxenable.
faxenable DCE1
This will restart the faxbox if it has been disabled.
faxcancel
This will cancel a fax on the queue (same as Charisma program FAXCAN)
faxdaemon
This will restart the Ufax system if it has been shut down or disabled.
