SPECIALIX I/O 8+

1. A reported problem has occurred on systems running Unix SVR4 03.02., where ports connected to the Specialix I/O 8+ may hang, because of continuous logins echoing between the VDU and the Port.
   
   
2. To overcome the problem two things need to be done:-
   
   * at the end of the tty label clocal needs to be inserted.(see para 6)
   
   * on the Port Service, CONNECT ON CARRIER needs to be set to OFF.
   
   
   DTC
3. Problems have been reported on systems running Unix SVR4 03.02., where printers connected to the DTC give a unix error of Auto-retrying. The printers either won’t start, or stop during a print.
   
   
4. If a system exhibits this problem carry out the following action:-
   
   * at the end of the tty label clocal needs to be inserted (see para 6)
   
   
   clocal Insertion
5. To insert the clocal, after the cread in root
   Enter vi /etc/ttydefs
   use /19200 or the up and down keys to access the relevant line
   use the left and right arrows to position the cursor after cread
   Enter i for insert and then type in clocal ESC
   Save and exit by entering : <CR> wq! <CR>
   
   
6. Repeat para 5 as necessary
