Overview | Dell PowerEdge Systems | Dell PowerEdge SDS 100 Storage Systems | UPS Power Management Software
After you are ready to start up the systems in the rack, make sure that you configure the particular software described in the following sections, as well as other software that may be used by the equipment in the rack. For more information, refer to the documentation provided with the computer, storage system, switch box, or UPS.
Make sure that you run the diagnostics software on the Dell Server Assistant CD for each system in the rack.
If you have installed a Dell PowerEdge SDS 100 storage system, you must update the host server's BIOS as described in "Updating the System BIOS and Diagnostics," of the storage system's Installation and Service Guide.
You should also use the diagnostics diskette included with the storage system to run the diagnostics for the host server. For instructions, see the Diagnostics and Troubleshooting Guide or the Installation and Troubleshooting Guide that accompanied the host server.
If you will be using UPS power management software, make sure you install the power management software on the "master" computer connected to the UPS.
