1. Units affected
This modification applies to all units with the integrated disk array sub-system that eprom firmware below 3.03 and downloadable firmware below 3.04.
The serial number range is not applicable in this situation. All potentially affected systems must be verified by checking the appropriate firmware levels at each site.
2. Reason for change
In order to bring all 92-01 disk array controller boards to a common support base, the new eprom with firmware version 3.03 must be installed and the downloadable firmware must be upgraded to 3.04. This release of the disk array firmware corrects numerous problems and restrictions existing in previous versions. This firmware is also a requirement for connecting the 6298 disk array subsystem to a system with an integrated disk array.
The 6298 subsystem requires raid manager for unix g460-0048-000. This release of software checks the downloadable firmware level and will only communicate with an array that has a firmware level of 3.00 or higher.
