1. INTRODUCTION
   The Multitech MTL 1432 & MTL 2834 modems can be used as security devices, either allowing access only by password, or a callback facility with passwords.
   This is only to be used with the dial-up facility and not with the lease line mode.
   The modem dialling in must be of a similar specification to the MTL1432 or MTL2834. There may be problems trying to use the dialback facility with a modem of a lesser specification
   
   
2. SET UP & ACCESS
   The set up consists of:-
   Initial first time Primary Setup (Para 4)
   Initial Setup to Enable passwords and dialback numbers (Para 5)
   Setup to Change passwords and dialback numbers (Para 6)
   Setup to Disable passwords and dialback numbers (Para 7)
   Access (Data Mode) using passwords only (Para 8)
   Access (Data Mode) using dialback (Para 9)
   
   
3. GENERAL INFORMATION
   3.1 This FECO is to be used in conjunction with FECO COMMS # 35/2 (MTL1432) &
        FECO COMMS # 46 (MTL2834); for the relevant general set-ups.
   3.2 AT&F will delete data, so always enter ATL to note and record any existing listed
        passwords and or dialback numbers BEFORE entering AT&F, then goto para 5
        and re-enter everything!
   3.3 All passwords are CASE SENSITIVE.
   3.4 You require the list of passwords and dialback numbers to be entered.
   3.5 All 0 in the setups are normally the number zero there is only one letter O listed.
   
   
4. INITIAL FIRST TIME PRIMARY SETUP
   4.1 First set the modem up i.a.w. FECO COMMS # 35/2 or FECO COMMS # 46
   4.2 Remember that setups are CASE SENSITIVE so enter characters as they are printed here.
   4.3 To access the modem
        Enter AT#IMULTITECH <CR> modem will respond OK.
   4.4 To access the setup . (This is the only letter O)
        Enter AT#SMODEMSETUP <CR> modem will respond OK.
   4.5 To set the Standard EDP Entry Password
        Enter AT#I=EDPBML <CR> modem will respond OK.
   4.6 To set the Standard EDP Setup Password
        Enter AT#S=EDPSETBML <CR> modem will respond OK.
   4.7 To set the Remote Password Security Mode
        Enter AT#DB2 <CR> modem will respond OK.
   4.8 To set the Parity of Password/Message Prompt (Default is no parity AT#P0)
        Enter AT#P1 <CR> for odd parity modem will respond OK.
        Enter AT#P2 <CR> for even parity modem will respond OK.
   4.9 To save the settings
        Enter AT&W0 <CR> modem will respond OK.
   
   
5. INITIAL ENABLE/ENTER PASSWORDS AND DIALBACK NUMBERS
   5.1 Enter the modem’s login password
        Enter AT# IEDPBML <CR> modem will respond OK .
   5.2 Enter the modem’s setup password
        Enter AT#SEDPSETBML <CR> modem will respond OK.
   5.3 Enable the Callback Security
        Enter AT#DB2 <CR> modem will respond Entering Callback Mode,
        current phone numbers will be erased.
        Do you want to continue? (Y/N)
        Enter Y <CR> modem will respond OK.
        If you Enter N then the setup will be aborted
   5.4 Enter the EDP Standard Callback Password
        Enter AT#CBN0thrupass <CR>
   5.5 Enter the other Callback Passwords N1 up to N29
        Enter AT#CBN1xxxxxxxxxx <CR>
        Enter AT#CBN2xxxxxxxxxx <CR> etc.
        Where xxxxxxxxxx is the required password minimum length 6 and maximum length is 10
        characters.They can be upper or lower case, but remember that access is CASE SENSITIVE.
        The first character of the password MUST be non numeric.
   5.6 Enter the EDP Standard Callback Phone Number
        Enter AT-N0 <CR>
   5.7 Enter the other Callback Phone Numbers for locations N1 up to N29
        Enter AT+-DPyyyyyyyyN1 <CR>
        Enter AT+-DTyyyyyyyyN2 <CR> etc.
        NOTE DP is for pulse dial and DT is for tone dial.
        Where yyyyyyy is the dial back number and can be upto 35 characters.
        The optional + (deposit number) allows the caller to enter the number they wish the
        callback modem to call back when the caller uses the correct password.
        The optional - character enables direct entry when the caller uses the correct
        password without the callback modem having to return the call.
   5.8 To view the Callback Passwords and or Numbers Enter ATL.
   5.9 To save the settings
        Enter AT&W0 <CR> modem will respond OK.
   
   
6. CHANGE PASSWORDS AND DIALBACK NUMBERS
   6.1 Enter the modem’s login password
        Enter AT# IEDPBML <CR> modem will respond OK .
   6.2 Enter the modem’s setup password
        Enter AT#SEDPSETBML <CR> modem will respond OK.
   6.3 To enter a new Callback Password N1 up to N29
        Enter AT#CBNZxxxxxxxxxx <CR>
   6.4 To delete an existing Callback Passwords N1 up to N29
        Enter AT#CBNZ(Press SPACEBAR six times) <CR> etc.
        Where xxxxxxxxxx is the required password minimum length 6 and maximum length is 10 characters. They
        can be  upper or lower case, but remember that access is CASE SENSITIVE.
        The first character of the password MUST be non numeric.
        Where Z is the memory location
   6.5 To enter a new Callback Phone Number for N1 up to N29
        Enter AT+-DPyyyyyyyyNZ <CR>
   6.6 To delete an existing Callback Phone Number for locations N1 up to N29
        Enter ATDTNZ <CR> etc.
        NOTE DP is for pulse dial and DT is for tone dial.
        Where yyyyyyy is the dial back number and can be upto 35 characters.

7. DISABLE ALL PASSWORDS AND DIALBACK NUMBERS
   7.1 Enter the modem’s login password
        Enter AT# IEDPBML <CR> modem will respond OK .
   7.2 Enter the modem’s setup password
        Enter AT#SEDPSETBML <CR> modem will respond OK.
   7.3 Disable the Callback Security
        Enter AT#DB0 <CR> modem will respond OK
   7.4 To save the settings
        Enter AT&W0 <CR> modem will respond OK.
   
   

8. ENTRY BY PASSWORD ONLY (Standard entry for EDP)
   8.1 Dial into the modem
   8.2 The modem will respond Password> Enter EDPBML <CR>
   8.3 The modem will respond DB> Enter thrupass- <CR> (don’t forget the -)
   8.4 The modem will respond Password> Enter EDPBML <CR> again
   8.5 The modem will respond CONNECT you are now in the Data Mode
   8.6 To drop the line use the normal disconnect protocol for the modem you are using
        (usually +++ followed by ATH)

9. ENTRY BY DIALBACK
   9.1 Dial into the modem
   9.2 The modem will respond Password> Enter EDPBML <CR>
   9.3 The modem will respond DB> Enter xxxxxxxxxx <CR>
        Where xxxxxxxxxx is the appropriate dialback password.
   9.4 The modem will drop the line. DO NOTHING!!
   9.5 The modem will dial you back and when your modem answers STILL DO NOTHING!!
   9.6 Eventually the modem will respond Password> Then Enter EDPBML <CR> again
   9.7 The modem will respond CONNECT you are now in the Data Mode
   9.8 To drop the line use the normal disconnect protocol for the modem you are using
        (usually +++ followed by ATH)
