SETUP OF LASAT SAFIRE 288 DIAL UP
MODEM
- This FECO COMMS # 44/1 replaces FECO COMMS # 44 completely. Remove and destroy existing
FECO COMMS # 44 and replace with this FECO COMMS # 44/1.
- The Lasat Safire 288 Modem is being used internally within EDP as an asynchronous dial
up modem. This FECO lists the setup and configuration for the SAFIRE 288 when used as a
Asynchronous modem on a PSTN line
- The small unit measuring 89 x 94 x 23 mm; is powered from a 13 Amp plug with a PSU in
it. The rear has the PSU, PSTN and Data (25pin D Type) connectors. The front has four
indicators, ON, DTR, DCD and COMP (data compression).
- CONFIGURATION
4.1 Connect a terminal set to 19200 bps, 8 bits, no parity, 1 stop bit; to the modem by a
Cable Type H.
4.2 Enter AT&V <CR> this displays modem configuration. Note settings.
4.3 Enter AT&F <CR> to set back to factory defaults
4.4 Enter AT&K4&K5&S0&W0 <CR>
4.5 Enter AT&V <CR> (this displays modem configuration)
Check configuration is as per para 4.4 above.
4.6 The modem is now set up ready for use.
- Set screen or PC to 19.2k else only autobauds to 1200.
