US ROBOTICS MODEMS PSU CONNECTION

The US Robotics Sportster modem detailed in FECO COMMS # 41 has got variations, with

two very different power supplies. One is 9 volt with a 2.5mm connector, the other is 20

volt with a 3mm connector.

US Robotics have supplied the following table.

Most of the modems have a MEC id of

Care must be taken to ensure that the correct PSU is used with the appropriate modem. Modems AND their PSU’S MUST stay together. Any modem moved MUST have its PSU with it.

To help minimise any confusion, the MEC id is to have SP2 or SP3 added to it.

The Service Centre is to FLAG all sites with a US Robotics FAX/MODEM.

At the next call the engineer is to be instructed to check the modem and report results to the Service Centre

The Service Centre is to record the above results in the TAC and also report them to Jane Yaull.
