3.3. corrective action:
Note....prior to changing any microchannel
settings, record all of your original adapter
settings. Change the settings as instructed for
running diagnostics, then restore all
settings to their original values before you
reboot the system into unix. This does not
apply to nt systems - see issue two.
Manually configure the 3 com address to be
located in the first mb of address space
between 0c000h - dffffh. With the reference
diskette version 2.01.02, the 3 com
adapter address space is defaulted during auto
- configuration to greater than 1mb
addresses. The 3 com dos diagnostics is not
able to access this adapter at the
address greater than 1mb.
4. issue two
4.1. configuration:
3450 or 3550 system
Windows NT operating system
3 com ethernet adapter @0041.adf with bus mastering capability
Reference diskette version 2.01.02
4.2. symptom: system panics while booting os after running auto configuration in
the
reference diskette.
4.3. corrective action: manually configure the 3 com address to be located in the
first mb
of address space between 0c000h - dffffh. With the
reference diskette version
2.01.02, the 3 com adapter address space is defaulted
during auto - configuration to
greater than 1mb addresses. The 3 com drivers for nt
are not able to access this
adapter at the address greater than 1mb.
