	REASON FOR CHANGE:	INCOMPATABILITY BETWEEN DISK DRIVES

1.         Reason for change

            Seagate disk drives will not function properly, when installed in a subsystem
            containing IBM 2gb or 4gb disk drives.

2.         Mixing drives without first having 2.06.09 firmware installed may result in data
            loss on existing drives.

3.         Change

            Do not install a 2GB or 4GB seagate drive and a 2GB or 4GB IBM drive in these
            systems that have adp93 controllers installed, unless the down loadable firmware
            has been upgraded to version 2.06.09 or later.

4.         Details of firmware upgrade will be issued later.

5.         Testing

            Test for function.

6.         Recording action

            If the adp93 controller does have firmware version 2.06.09 or later, ensure a
            modification label is attached to the controller, and that the figure 5 is struck
            through but not obliterated.
