CLASS OF CHANGE: | MANDATORY | |
REASON FOR CHANGE: | TO LIST THE CALIBRATION PROCEDURE FOR THE PAPER OUT AND THE PAPER MOTION SENSORS. |
1. Further to feco MT#67 detailing how the paper out and the
paper motion sensors are now bonded to the
tractor units; if the tractor units are changed, then
the sensors must be calibrated as detailed below.
2. Paper out calibration
This procedure calibrates the operating threshold for the paper out sensor located in the lower left-hand tractor module. The printer firmware reads the sensor with paper installed and then removed. From these two readings, a threshold level is calculated and set up for the printer.
Step 1 select the pap out calibration through the front panel by selecting the test mode, then scrolling along to diag (level 1) - papr cal (level 2) -pap out (level 3). Press the enter key.
Step 2 when the front panel displays the message "remove paper", open the lower left tractor door and remove the paper. Close the tractor door and press the enter key.
Step 3 reinstall the paper, close the tractor door and press the enter key again.

The table shows the messages that are displayed during this procedure.
Messageoperator action
Ins paper, enterverify that paper is installed in the lower left tractor, then press the enter key.
Rmv paper, enterremove paper from the lower left tractor. Close the tractor door, then press the enter key.
Ins paper, enterinstall paper in the lower left tractor, then press the enter key.
3. Paper motion calibration
This procedure calibrate the operating threshold for the paper motion sensor located in the upper left tractor module. This calibration is performed automatically when the paper motion procedure is selected. The paper will move up and down a short distance while the control processor reads the sensor and computes
The new threshold. The front panel will display this new threshold and then return to the menu. No assistance is required during this calibration.
Step 1 select the pap mot calibration through the front panel by selecting the test mode, then scrolling to diag (level 1) - papr cal (level 2) - pap mot (level 3). Press the enter key. The paper will move forward a sort distance and then back up.
Step 2 verify that no fault condition is produced during this calibration. This completes the paper motion calibration procedure.
