1. Reason for change
Edp have introduced the sony ktx9100 viewdata terminal as replacement for the alcatel viewdata terminal.
The unit has a built in modem and can be used as the remote terminal for remote order entry.
2. Change
The terminal is silver coloured with a black
front, and has a 9 inch screen. There is a carrying handle in the
top and a mains lead and telephone connection.
A miniature and full size key board are available.
The unit weighs 8kg and measures 261 x 236 x 327mm (w/h/d)
(approx 10.5 x 9 x 13 inches).

4. Configuration
4.1 set memory protect switch towards the rear - off.
4.2 switch on the unit.
4.3 enter *help (characters in lower case)
4.4 the screen will display
1. Dump select* 1 prestel
2 ibm honeywell
3 aregon
4 computex
5 reponse mode
2. Printer* 1 video printer
2 dot matrix printer
3. Ext modem* 1 1200/75
2 1200/1200
4. Dial select* 1 pulse dial
2 tone dial
Where the * shows the parameters set.
4.5 to change a parameter enter the group number then select the
Number of the parameter required.
4.6 to programme numbers and id
4.6.1 enter *tel# (lower case)
4.6.2 enter ***
4.6.3 dial service number required (1-6)
4.6.4 enter name (up to 8 characters) then enter #
4.6.5 enter number, then enter #
4.6.6 enter id (if required) then enter #
4.6.7 repeat 4.6.2 to 4.6.6 as required.
4.7 set memory protect switch towards the front - on.
5. Usage
5.1 when first powered on wait for initial screen.
5.2 press viewdata key.
5.3 enter dialling option 1-6.
5.4 the terminal will start dialling and when connected in to the
Remote host, will display an entry page. If
the connection is not successful, the screen will display an
appropriate message.
6. Servicing
Servicing is by unit replacement.

Set up terminal then access a viewdata system.
