This amendment replaces one page of FECO COMMS #29 .

From FECO COMMS #29 remove page 5 and replace with attached pages 5/1 and 6/1.

NOTE:

Throughout this FECO a SPACE in a string is shown by a Ñ .

All other spaces are purely cosmetic

7.        CONFIGURATION DIAL UP

7.1      Connect a VDU to the modem.

                Enter AT and OK response.

                Enter AT Ñ *T1 to display current settings – Note these.

                Enter AT Ñ &F to default to factory settings.

                Enter AT Ñ *C1 Ñ *E1 Ñ *D1 Ñ S0=1 Ñ *U1 Ñ &W

            Where *T1 – Displays settings

                        *C1 – Enables Speed Conversion

                        *E1 – Automatic connection with or without error control

                        *D1 – Data Compression

                        *U1 – V42 Error Control

                        &W – Saves configuration to memory

                        &F – Factory Default

                        Ensure Option settings are as per para 9.3.

8.        CONFIGURATION 2 WIRE LEASED LINE

8.1      Switch Bank 1 – Set 1 Off

                        Set 2 On

                        Set 3 Off

                        Set 4 On

8.2       JUMPERS W9, W8 & W21 ALL ON

8.3        Through the Front Panel Set Option 30 to;

              For Host End of Link 2

              For Peripheral End of Link 3

              Press the OPTION front panel button.

               The LCD panel will display ‘OPTION:’

               Press 3, 0, then ENTER

               The LCD panel will display existing setting, e.g. "OP 30*1"

                To change the settings press 2 or 3 as detailed above, then press ENTER.
                The LCD display will show the new setting, then show ‘OPTION:’

                Press the Reset button to initialise the unit.

9.            OPTION SETTINGS

9.1          How To Display Option Settings

                You can display all options and their settings by typing TAB <CR>. The screen displays them all.
                A sample is shown below

9.2          How To Change an Option Setting

                To change an option setting, type OPT<CR>. The screen displays:

                            OPTION NUMBER?

                Type the option number you want to change, and press <CR>. The screen displays the
                option number and its current setting.

                Type the new setting, and press <CR>. The screen displays the prompt again. If you do not want
                to change any other options, press <CR>.

                 You can change options from the front panel also. When the LCD displays IDLE, press
                 <OPTION>.

                 The LCD displays:

TXD RXD HS CTS DSR DTR RI CXR

OPTION  :

            Type the number of the option you want to change, then press <CR>.
            The LCD displays the option number and the current setting.
            Type the number of the new setting, and press <CR>.
            To exit the option routine, press <CR>.

9.3       Dial Up Option Settings

                    Option 1 = 1

                    Option 2 = 2

                    Option 3 = 3

                    Option 12 = 2

                    Option 30 = 1
