PROBLEMS WITH 18GB DISKS IN AN NCR 4300 WITH A MYLEX DAC960PL CONTROLLER
1 INTRODUCTION
Problems have been reported
when trying to install 18GB disks into an NCR 4300 with a MYLEX
DAC960PL Controller.
It
is not possible to configure the full capacity of the 18GB drives into "PACKS",
when using the
MYLEX DAC960PL Controller.
2 RESOLUTION
The problem can be overcome
by fitting a MYLEX DAC960PG Controller in place of the MYLEX
DAC960PL Controller.
The MYLEX DAC960PL Controller is also now no longer available.

Sales and installation of 18GB
disks into existing NCR 4300 systems with a MYLEX DAC960PL
Controller, MUST include an upgrade
